Welcome

A dhaoine uaisle go léir.

I wish you all a very warm welcome to Dean Maguirc College, Carrickmore, Co. Tyrone and I do hope that you find the website interesting and informative.

Our co-educational school was opened in 1966 and since 1977 has been catering for pupils of all ability levels. We enjoy much academic success and many of our pupils have excelled in extra-curricular activities.

We want every child who enters our college to achieve his or her true potential and make the most of his or her talents during their time here, be it five years or seven years. Our educational provision incorporates academic and vocational opportunities and as a school we endeavour at all times to meet the personal, social and spiritual needs of the young people in our care. This is very much reflected in our school’s mission statement. “We commit ourselves to the growth and development of people”.

Dean Maguirc College is the local community school and we pride ourselves on the excellent relationships that exist amongst staff, pupils, parents, feeder primary schools and the wider community. Our collaboration with other post primary schools and South West College, Omagh enables us to provide a broader curriculum which is required under the ‘ The Entitlement Framework’.

This website should answer many of your questions about Dean Maguirc College and if you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact the school.

Yours sincerely
